United States Passports

Before booking your flight, check the expiration date on your passport. Many countries, including Greece, require that your passport be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned travel dates. If your passport is expiring before March 27, 2027, you won’t be able to leave the U.S., so make sure to renew early.
Applying or Renewing

  • Renewal: If your passport is expired or expiring within the next year, apply for a renewal.
  • First-time applicants: If you’ve never had a passport (or you were under 16 when your last one was issued), you’ll need to apply in person.
  • Lost or stolen: If you can’t find your passport, you’ll need to file a report and submit a new application.
Costs & Processing Times

  • Adult passport book: $130 application fee + $35 acceptance fee (paid separately at the application site).
  • Standard processing: about 8–12 weeks.
  • Expedited processing: about 5–7 weeks (extra $60 fee).
  • Urgent travel (within 2 weeks): You may qualify for an in-person appointment at a passport agency. PLEASE do not RSVP unless you have confirmed the status of your passport!
What to Bring

  • Proof of citizenship (original birth certificate or certified copy) that will be mailed in with your application and returned before the passport is issued.
Additional photocopy of your birth certificate (most offices will not make a copy for you, so bring extras).
  • A government-issued photo ID (driver’s license).
Additional photocopy of your ID, front and back (most offices will not make a copy for you, so bring extras).
  • A recent 2x2-inch passport photo (many CVS/Walgreens locations, post offices, or FedEx/UPS shipping centers offer this service).
  • Completed application form: DS-11 (first-time applicants) or DS-82 (renewals).

Pro tip: Start this process early! We will need passport numbers with your RSVP for the hotel reservations, so the application needs to be processing by February 2026.

Getting to Greece

The best way to get to Greece is by flying into Athens International Airport (ATH). You can get to Paros from Athens by ferry (from Piraeus or Rafina ports) or by plane (PAS), depending on your preferences. Once on Paros, it’s just a short hop to Antiparos- see the Antiparos tab for details on getting there.
